CICA President, Dennis Harwick, provides his outlook for captives in 2010 in the US Captive April 2010 issue. (See pg. 9)
Since 2001, CICA has annually conducted an industry survey to gauge the fronting/risk-sharing market. This survey, done in conjunction with a number of prominent domicile associations, has provided valuable insight into the use of fronting. In addition to concentrating on fronting issues, the scope of the survey has been expanded in recent years to include reinsurance issues, employee benefits in captives, and comparative financial information about captives.

Captive Best Practices Guidelines
Volume 2-Utilizing Service Providers
After the success of the initial Best Practices Guidelines, and positive industry feedback, CICA has created a set of guidelines focusing more closely on the operational best practices of captives in utilizing service providers, such as, captive managers, consultants, actuaries, auditors and lawyers. These new guidelines provide captive owners and captive regulators with best practice guidelines regarding what they should expect from their service providers and how they should measure their performance.
