Willis has
opened a captive advice and management office in
Sweden,
Willis Management (Stockholm),
to meet growing demand for captives.
The new division will advise
Scandinavian clients with captives in
Sweden
or abroad and also cater for Swedish captives held by foreign
owners. It will offer these clients access to the Willis
brokerage network and its 130-strong Global Captive Practice
team.
According to Malcolm Cutts-Watson,
leader of the Willis European Captive Practice,
Sweden
is becoming an increasingly attractive captive location.
“We see exciting opportunities
in
Sweden
for both domestic captive business and for foreign
organisations seeking a reputable onshore location with
accredited regulatory and tax regimes in which to base their
captives,” he said.
Insurance Mathematics, a
Swedish actuarial firm with captive expertise will provide
complementary services.
Martin Atterby, managing
director of the new operation, said: “Public and private
sector clients are becoming increasingly sophisticated in
their captive needs and are seeking advice on risk retention
strategies and captive vehicle utilisation.
“With the launch of Willis
Management (Stockholm)
our clients will have one-stop access to world-class actuarial
and financial modelling expertise, as well as captive
consulting and management services.”
