Captives as Tools of Resilience and Other Lessons from the CICA Conference

MINNEAPOLIS – Over 500 captive insurance professionals gathered in San Diego, California last week at CICA’s 2017 International Conference to learn strategies for defying disruption with captive insurance.

Tax and regulatory sessions were highly popular along with a review of how the new political landscape, including the potential repeal of the Affordable Care Act, the Captive Clarification Act, and the future of the Federal Insurance Office, may affect captives.

Other highly rated sessions included: identifying opportunities for captive expansion by using analytics to identify business risks, understanding how to protect cyber-vulnerable assets, and assessing when a business risk is also an insurance risk.
