Amplify Women Panel – Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA)
The captive insurance industry, like the broader finance sector, faces a persistent challenge — promoting women into senior leadership roles.
It was precisely this disparity that led to the formation of the Captive Insurance Companies Association’s (CICA) ‘Amplify Women’ (AW) task force five years ago. Initially launched as a resource to connect women with opportunities for education, networking, and influence, the initiative has rapidly moved to the forefront of industry collaboration and growth.
Looking back, this volunteer-led programme has experienced significant growth and impact. It has fostered engagement that led to over 300 subscribers, more than 60 volunteers actively serving in committees, and over 20 educational opportunities hosted through conferences and webinars. Furthermore, the initiative is actively redefining industry visibility: in 2024 and 2025, nearly 50 per cent of speakers at the CICA International Conference were women, a striking contrast to the industry average of less than 30 per cent.
The programme’s name, ‘Amplify Women’, represents its core effort to help future generations gain confidence, knowledge, and forge an easier path in the industry.
As CICA celebrates this five-year milestone, Captive Insurance Times speaks with CICA President Daniel Towle and some of the members of the ‘Amplify Women’ Committee to discuss how this crucial initiative is not only addressing the talent gap but is actively redefining the future of captive leadership.
