Kevin Yousif, President of Yousif Capital Management, was so impressed by the programming and topics of the CICA international conference that he went from attendee, to gold sponsor, to panel speaker in just a few years. A member since 2022, Kevin enjoys the engagement of the audience and the openness of the speakers. Although Kevin is supposed to be at his exhibitor booth during sessions, he prefers to spend his time learning from the roundtable discussions and how captive managers have started their programs. At the 2024 conference, he spoke on a panel about diversity, discussing the challenges and opportunities of hiring a diverse staff and how to build an executive team that uplifts each other. Kevin shared his own experience of immigrating to the United States as a 10-year-old from Iraq and connected with the audience through his stories. Yousif Capital Management is now exploring how to join a group captive because of the knowledge gained from CICA, and was shortlisted for the 2023 Investment Specialist award by Captive Review. A fun fact: Kevin was honored to write the passive management study guide for the level 3 CFA exam. He is also a presiding board member of Catholic Charities of Southeastern Michigan.
