From: Captive International

As president of the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA), I have long believed the strength of our industry lies not only in our technical expertise and financial acumen, but also in the diversity of our leadership. The captive insurance industry has thrived on innovation and collaboration; qualities that are strengthened when a broad range of perspectives is represented.

When CICA launched Amplify Women™ in 2019, our goal was to increase the visibility of women in the captive industry, expand leadership opportunities and create supportive professional networks that foster long-term success. Since then, the initiative has become a dynamic, supportive community, focused on networking, education and inclusion across all aspects of the industry.

Gender imbalance reflects not only inequity, but also a missed opportunity for organisations to make better decisions.”

Dan Towle, CICA

Working alongside the Amplify Women Committee and CICA members, I have seen both remarkable progress and continuing challenges. While women make up more than 60% of the overall insurance workforce, their representation drops significantly in senior positions, often below 20%. This imbalance reflects not only inequity, but also a missed opportunity for organisations to make better decisions and innovate more effectively when diverse voices are present.
