Robert ‘Skip’ Myers received a standing ovation as he picked up the award for Outstanding Contribution by an Individual at the US Captive Review Awards 2017, in Burlington, Vermont, on the evening of Monday, 7 August.

The industry panel recognised Skip’s significant and sustained contribution to North America’s captive insurance industry.  A generous contributor of time and expertise to associations as well as clients, Skip has been a key figure in shaping the legal direction of the captive and risk retention group world for more than three decades.  Key pieces of legislation carrying Skip’s fingerprints include Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986 and the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act in 2002.  He is a truly deserving winner of this prestigious award.
