The captive team at the University of California are working on implementing a student internship programme that is funded by the university’s captive programme.

Partnering with the University of California Washington Centre (UCDC) campus and the DC Department of Insurance Banking and Securities (DISB), it would provide scholarships to UC students, allowing them to attend the UCDC programme, and get exposure to the captive industry by interning at the DISB while studying abroad in Washington DC.

Karen Hsi, the University of California’s exec director of captive programmes, explained to Captive Review how she was is looking to implement an internship to help bring on the next generation of captive professionals.

“This would be an opportunity to expose students to the captive industry and the world of financial regulation and education,” she said.
